Local Business Women Network at Lunch: Feb 1

(January 18, 2007) Several years ago, while selling pizza at Chatsworth Avenue School, two mothers discovered they had something in common other than pizza - they both owned their own local businesses. While discussing their business related issues they realized there were other Larchmont and Mamaroneck women in a similar situation and that they could all benefit from having a networking group where they could share information.

Armed with the goal of “women helping women” along with the support of Citibank, they formed WIN (Women’s Information Network). WIN is comprised of local women business owners who meet over coffee on a monthly basis to exchange ideas on how to effectively grow their businesses. “We have had speakers who have provided excellent tips on such topics as the ‘business of running a business’ and marketing,” said Sylvie Fremont, a founding member of the network. “It has been an excellent forum for the sharing of techniques - what has and has not worked - in a supportive environment.”

WIN is holding its 4th annual luncheon on Thursday, February 1 at the Larchmont Yacht Club, featuring Jane Pollak, business coach and author. She will be speaking about “turning your passion into a business,” as well as marketing and goal setting. WIN members and nonmembers are welcome.
