Born Sept. 29, 1930, in New York City, he was the son of the late Francis A. Hart Sr. and Hester (Van Cor) Hart. He attended schools in New York City and graduated from Fordham University. He served with the 1st Armored Division's Aviation Company during the Korean conflict.

Early in his career, he worked for CBS and NBC television. He later joined Sperry & Hutchinson, managing their accounting department. He served as controller of Cluett Peabody's Rogers Peet retail division as well as the Syska and Hennessey engineering firm. Subsequently, he organized his own consulting firm, specializing in business turnarounds, which he managed until his retirement.

He raised his family in Larchmont, N.Y., before moving to Stamford, Conn., and later retired to South Dennis, MA. In retirement, he was an avid genealogical researcher, an enthusiastic computer hobbyist and a book collector. He was a volunteer instructor with the Computers for Seniors program on Cape Cod. In New York and Connecticut, he volunteered as a parish council member and Eucharistic minister in his local parish.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth (O'Brien) Hart; five daughters, Patricia Stoneman of Albany, N.Y., Meg Powers of Reading, Kathleen Hart of Stamford, Conn., Elizabeth Massey of Mansfield, Texas, and Alison Rotolo of Ridgefield, Conn.; and six grandchildren, Christopher and Colin Massey, Molly and Kayley Powers, Anna Stoneman and Connor Rotolo.

Services will be Tuesday, November 27 at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster, MA. Visitation will be Monday, November 26 from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home in South Dennis, MA 02660, (508)385-7116. Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery in South Dennis.
