"Seussical" is On Stage at MHS: April 10-12

from Mamaroneck High School

(April 3, 2008) Members of Mamaroneck High School’s senior class are performing Seussical, a musical based on the works of Dr. Seuss. “This delightful production is appropriate for kids of all ages,” said Fran Barski, producer for the show.

Performances are April 10, 11, and 12 at 8:00 pm in the Mamaroneck High School McLain auditorium.

Ms. Barski reported that students have been rehearsing for the show since mid-February with the support of director Cal Chiang and musical director Mary Herrmann. Nevertheless, some of the seniors would be happy to continue working on the show for much longer.

Carly Hachey, who plays Gertrude McFuzz, said, “I’ve been looking forward to being in the senior play since freshman year. It’s finally here and it has been a blast! I don’t want the fun to end.”

Julia Kaplan, who plays Amayzing Mayzie (Mayzie LaBird) agreed. “Rehearsing for Seussical with all of my classmates has been so much fun and I’m so excited for our performances, I don’t know if I want it to be over.”

The show is open to the entire community. Tickets are available at the door and cost $12 for adults, including high school students, and $8 for children, 8th grade and younger.
