SARAH CREAGH BROUN MCGUIRE
Sarah Creagh Broun McGuire, loving wife of the late William F. McGuire and
life-long Larchmont resident, died peacefully on February 4th 2008 with
her devoted family by her side. "Sally" as everyone knew her, was a never-ending force at St. Augustine Church since it opened its doors in 1928. She is proudly registered as the second baby baptized in the new church. She swam at Larchmont Manor Beach her entire life, including this past Labor Day. Sally was instrumental in starting the Larchmont Manor Beach Booster club to raise money for the swim team and other activities at the beach. She was involved with St Monica's Guild, The Ladies Auxiliary, and the start of the Parish Council, Habitat for Humanity, and Voice of the Faithful, The Outreach Council and The Angel Tree. Sally believed that religion, family and taking care of your fellow man was essential to life. Wife, mother, friend, homemaker, seamstress and church activist, Sally is survived by sons Andrew, William and wife Lorraine, Edward, daughter Margaret, grandson William III. Her son Christopher predeceased her in 2002 The family will receive friends and family at their home at 1806 Palmer Ave, Larchmont, New York, on Wednesday February 6th and Thursday February 7th between 7:00 and 9:00 pm. The funeral memorial Mass will be held at St Augustine’s Catholic Church on Saturday the 9th of February at 10:00 am. It was Sally’s wish that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Rosary Hill Home, 600 Linda Ave, Hawthorne New York 10532. |
