YISRAEL MENDEL

(July 3, 2008) With great thanks to the Almighty G-D, Rabbi Mendel and Chana Silberstein are happy to announce the birth of their son who was born on June 2, 2008. He had his Bris eight days later on the Jewish holiday of Shavuot and was named Yisrael. He is named after the holy Baal Shem Tov, the founder of the Chassidic movement. One month later, on July 2, 2008, family and friends joined to celebrate his Pidyon Haben, the Jewish ceremony where the parents redeem their firstborn son with five silver coins.

Rabbi Mendel and Chana Silberstein are the directors of Chabad of Larchmont and Mamaroneck.
